Every fall I peer into my over flowing boxes of bike stuff and get busy on Ebay. This year I hope to sell some items to help with a new bike purchase. I'm thinking 29'er hardtail at the moment because a few friends had great luck with them this year.
My wish list so far. Niner Air 9, Fisher Superfly, boutique brand ti bike.
Really do not want to give up the Scalpel but have been on it two years and want to see what else is out there in bike land. Except if I had $6,000 for new team Scalpel.
So if you would all proceed over to Ebay and buy my goods and help me raise some bike cash. seller name; bobikes123
Thanks

Kinzua Bridge
Hey Everyone went for a good ride today. Four of us left Bradford, Pa around noon. The sun was peeking through the clouds, and the air was crisp and clean. Perfect day for an October ride.
Destination was Kinzua Bridge. The old railroad bridge that fell down a few years ago. When it was standing it was one impressive piece of steel. I'm not sure of all the history behind the bridge but Google will surely provide some information.
This ride follows the old railroad grade all the way to the bridge. From Bradford its all uphill but only at 1 to 2% grade. Its probably ten miles of cinder trail with some sand and small rocks thrown in.
We say a few hawks, grouse, and lots of birds. Interestingly there were these mutant like fruit fly bugs that were all over. They were super big and went right for your eyes. Dam they were annoying.
Also we stopped at this old tunnel that was built in 1864. It looks as god as it did back then except for some moss. We actually climbed on it and you could drive a car thru it. They do not build tunnels like that these days. The rocks and craftsmanship used to build the bridge is really something special.
Finally at the bridge we got to see all the wreckage that once was the bridge. The ends are still standing but the middle is on the valley floor a few hundred feet below. The twisted steel, railroad ties, and track look like something right out of a movie scene.
The steel used in the track was even inscribed with "Carniege 1910" on it. Pretty neat that the steel in the tracks was from 1910.
Need that camera to really show the quality of this ride.

River Walk
Went for another river walk today. What seperates my walk from others is that I actually walk along the river and a big farmers field. I pick ears of corn and shuck them and leave the kernels on the ground for the animals. I aslo throw rocks, look for fish and other animals.
The river is the Allegany. Flows all the way to Pittsburg. Its not very wide or deep but its been around for 1000's of years. I've been involved with the river all my life. As a kid we would fish in it, hunt for arrowheads in another field along its banks.

Skype this!!!!!
Have you ever tried Skype? The free internet phone service. Well I did last night for the first time. Its pretty awesome. You can even video each other if you have webcams. Easy setup and instillation. I suggest trying it if you have not.
I can see how this tool can work for couples, families, or relatives who live some distance apart or have not seen each other in some time. Just fire up Skype and smile into your webcam. Pretty cool.

Weekend Trip
Went to Raleigh, NC for three days of Susapalooza. Awesome weekend!! Food, drinks, and more fun than you can shake a stick at. Even found $40 that went to the Bobikes clothes fund. Raleigh and the surrounding area is quit nice. Even made a side trip to Chapel Hill to see UNC. Powder Blue everywhere, guess there's a local law about wearing one piece of clothing on your body with UNC written somewhere.
Flew Southwest and they did a great job. Did not see anyone get kicked off the flight for "short shorts", although was hoping to see and add my two cents if shorts were to short. Although on flight home a guy did have a t-shirt on with the words "my fucking idea" inside a drawing of a light bulb. Wonder whose idea it was to wear a shirt like that.
Ok gotta go mowed the lawn twice tonight. It was super high after being away. Adios!!
